Most teenagers feel unimaginable pressure during there years of secondary school; especially those who are going through and preparing for exams. We should not be expected to go through all of this and have little support; there are teachers there to talk to but there is never enough time or anything done to how we are feeling. Suicide rates are sky rocketing in teenagers because we cannot cope with the pressure.

Schools should have departments for mental health help; even schools that do have this have little staff and time to help students. Waitlists are massive for pupils to get help in the first place and many pupils do not feel comfortable speaking because it is not normalised. No one is doing assemblies on how to cope with pressure and who can help you- it’s all about how to learn the most affectively or how to be respectful.

Very little is done to help teenagers in schools across the UK and that needs to change; especially during a pandemic where everything is changing for teenagers but there is barely anyone there to help them. There should be better funding towards mental health help in schools and in the end it will create better results as teenagers are not sacrificing their mental health to get results. No one is listening to us and that needs to change.
