The country is in a state of chaos over restrictions imposed in response to the Sars-Cov2 virus.

The virus causes illness and death mainly in people who are older and have existing health problems. The impact of the measures we are taking to protect this group of citizens will limit the lives and futures of younger people for many many years. The collateral damage from the measures imposed by Government - massive public debt, economic decline, loss of cultural, sporting and social activity, is direct trade off for limiting the impact of the virus on those affected by it (primarily people over 65 and with existing health conditions).

As a man aged 65 who believes in democracy I would like the opportunity to say what I want to be done to protect my health and welfare, whilst taking into account  the needs of others and the futures of my children and their children to come.

We call on the Government and the NHS to ask people over the age of 65 what measures they would choose to see in place to protect them. This can be done quickly and cheaply through opinion polls and surveys.

We are all more likely to abide by rules and regulations if we are part of the process that creates them.
