We appeal as a matter of *urgency* for *urgent* action to subdue and quell the flames of xenophobic violence .

Whatever the claims and motivations for these attacks , its clear, that its rampant and out of control with random violence on weak targets and whoever gets in the way. It is un- coordinated violence designed to cripple our entire country.

Violence does not serve anyones intrests.

We have just voted a government into power with a new president in control. We need to see him *step up* and declare a state of emergency before he.s left with a country in crutches and a maimed economy.

We dont need bystanders. We demand the mobilisation of evident and stringent measure to subdue heedless killing and aimless destruction.

Call on us to play a role in the intervention but dont leave the innocence to bleed on the nations doorsteps.

If this violence proceeds permit as to call for an emergency election to put the calibre of leadership in power that harnesses the means and drive to bring our beloved country under control.Signed ... Rahima Malinga
