A57 MOTTRAM BYPASS
This petition had 67 supporters
In the 1970's it was decided that a bypass was necessary on the A57 Manchester to Sheffield Road at mottram-in-longdendale. Over 45 years later we are still waiting. 3 years ago the joint Conservative and lib dems coalition government promised action. Nick clegg stood on the A57 and promised the people of North West England that work will start very soon on the new bypass. Nothing has materialised. Since the last election we feel that as the lib dems no longer have any say on the matter, therefore the tory party can ignore the people of the North West and hope the matter will just go away. The Conservative MP Andrew Bingham has proven once again to be useless. I have written to him twice about local issues and received false promises. Maybe the Labour Party have the answer, who knows. The fact remains that the A57 bypass is crucial to the infrastructure of Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield. Please give us our long awaited road to future success for many
