Hi my names Nicola 

I have been caring for my dad for nearly 6 years now & I want to create a petition that will finally get ‘unpaid carers’ heard. When I was 23 my dad took Ill and I didn’t have a clue where to go where to start with this journey. As being an only child and having two children and a partner everything is left on me, but I care and love my dad unconditionally so sacrifice my career , time with my kids & personal time to look after my dad. 
I feel the payment in carers allowance is UNFAIR. £67.60 is not even close enough to a fair pay for the jobs we provide for the people we love. If we was to care in a actually employment facility we would be paid minimum wage - which isn’t even close to what we get paid weekly which also is classed as a income when it comes to tax credits. 
sleepless nights endless anxiety comes with this job you can’t just switch off at night and come home and feel fine it does not work like that. Caring is a 24/7 job for us and we need financial help and support in the job we aren’t trained or supported in. Please sign this and get the government to see this as a cry for help from many people like me in this country thankyou. Please sign!!!
