There have been many incidents which are worryingly increasing in frequency, nature and harm regarding bullying at the academic establishment of The Gainsborough Academy with many parents feeling deflated having to watch as their children continuously becoming targets despite Article 3 of the Human Rights Act 1998 "Freedom from torture and inhuman or degrading treatment" and Article 14 "Protection from discrimination in respect of these rights and freedoms".

Although many parents have tried to request the school to look at amending their policy with regards to bullying or identify that this is an increasing problem which needs to be addressed they are often reassured that these incidents are 'isolated' and not frequent in intensity or nature.

The parents of the school wish to petition for the voice of the parents and students to be heard in order to motion for the school to readdress their bullying policy and the sanctions imposed for the same and for the school to put positive change in place to combat this escalating problem in order for the above articles to be supported and promote inclusion and equality for the emotional, physical and mental wellbeing of the children.
