Why is the topic important? :

This topic is very important because this is a problem that affects people and their religious beliefs. It hasn’t improved and has only gotten worse. Religion is something that is held to people whether they are close to their god or not. The french government is taking advantage of their power and is using it in the wrong way. The hijab means modesty and to preserve. In Islam, the hijab is a symbol that women are meant to cherished, that there beauty is meant to be something that is given as a gift in a sense. By covering one's hair, neck, and ears, this preserves their beauty to show that women are more than looks. 

Why create this petition? : 

From creating this petition, as a young muslim in whom is a former hijabi, I would like this to be a topic that needs to be broadcasted more. As a kid trying to help change something in the world, I hope people will actually listen. The hijab is more than a piece of fabric to muslim women. It is a piece of who they are and it is worn by choice, not by force. By taking this away from them, they are taking a piece of their identity. Personally when I made the decision to stop wearing the hijab, I went through this same withdrawal process.. However the difference is that this was my choice. By making this petition I wish that there can be change to this. To completely get rid of this stupid law and to let the people of Islam be free. The only solution should be the removal of this law, there is no if’s or but’s. This law is violating people's personal beliefs and so much more deeper than that.

Since rallies and protests haven’t worked, a stronger action needs to be made. People in communities need to take action together to at least try to improve it in their community. Communities can set up meetings and discuss what is happening and why it is happening. EDUCATE PEOPLE YOU KNOW! A big reason why this is happening is because parents have educated their kids for generations the wrong way. We need to educate each other using the truth! When parents tell their children the wrong things, kids will believe and grow up believing that for the rest of their life. Nothing is going to change with it remaining the way it is.
