Anna Kindsfather started this petition to the foundation for gender equality

My names Anna Kindsfather. I’m 14 years old & I’ve grown up in a society where I’ve been forced to believe that there is a certain way to be “feminine” or “masculine”.  I believe that bringing awareness to unfair gender stereotypes is important, especially in today’s society where the media rules our lives. Ever since I was young, i’ve been told and socially influenced to believe that females are- submissive, dependent on their significant other, emotional, indecisive and domesticated while on the other hand, males are- dominant, independent, active, smart and decisive. Please ask yourself after looking at these words, is there a common theme? Females don’t have to wear makeup and be skinny to be beautiful and attractive. Males don’t have to have muscles to be masculine. Females can be Engineers. Males can be designers. We must move forward past these stereotypes that have shaped our society and minds as a whole. By signing this petition you’re helping me spread awareness for my cause. I will be emailing name brand companies who use stereotyping in their ads and share these results with them. Help me end stereotypes for us and for future generations.
