Kelly Najjar started this petition to The Forges Board and A&R Management

You can't argue with science. It is a well-established fact that physical activity is essential to the health of our immune system. Additionally, it is also well-established that physical activity is essential to preventing or healing the comorbidities that affect the outcome of COVID-19. According to the American Journal of Infection Control: "One or more comorbidity is highly prevalent in severe and fatal COVID-19 cases. Based on our findings, hypertension followed by diabetes and cardiovascular diseases were the most common comorbidity seen in COVID-19 positive patients across major epicenters world-wide." Lack of physical activity puts all of us at risk for these diseases; physical activity is essential to improve outcomes for those in our community suffering from these conditions.

Without gathering input from the community, our board and management company have determined not to open the most essential services available to this community. In doing so, they are putting our community at risk for COVID-19.

Gyms & tennis courts across the state are opening at 25% capacity, our gym & tennis court should be following the direction provided by Governor Murphy and open. In his direction, Gov Murphy makes it clear that it is up to all of us to mitigate the risks and keep each other safe.

By forcing us to either reduce our physical activity due to lack of access OR leave our community so that we can use another facility with a higher risk, the board and A&R Management are increasing our risk in order to protect themselves.

By signing this petition, you are communicating to the board and A&R Management company that you are not in agreement with their decision and that you want the gym open in some capacity or risk legal action to recoup the HOA fees pay to fund the facilities they are restricting.
