Misclassification: A National issue

Misclassification is the systematic process of classifying their workers as independent contractors incorrectly. Independent contractors are supposed to be awarded the freedom of autonomy during their work but do not receive benefits. However, companies decide to not afford their "independent contractors" autonomy, meaning they should be classified as employees. These workers are subject to wage theft and are constantly mistreated by their employers. Misclassification has been ruled illegal in federal courts across the country. By signing you are telling the government to enforce these court rulings.
