The NFL is actively ruining the quality of football with their new taunting penalty. “You know the rule” is simply not an excuse for a ridiculous penalty ruining games throughout the year. Each week, we see the emotion being sucked out of the game for the sake of “league integrity”. Hey Roger, the league’s integrity is only as strong as the quality of play, and its players. In baseball, bat flips are now a beloved event, & NBA stare-downs are a staple of any highlight reel. Yet in the NFL, emotions are now a liability for your team. Plain & simple, the taunting rule needs to go. As a Jets fan, I’m used to disappointment, but this is something else entirely- it’s bullshit. It’s time for the taunting penalty to go.
