www.victoryhants.co.uk/Facebook/Twitter has launched an Autism & Football campaign to make all football related activities whether spectating or Playing a better experience for people with autism by providing sensory rooms at ALL Football Clubs across the UK.

Comments from one of many Autistic Players at Victory Hants:-

"My love of footy started when I was a kid.

I enjoyed watching England on the telly and playing Fifa games in the good old days of the late 90s. Boys at school would talk about many footballers, so I decided to follow one particular player that I heard was playing well.

That Player is still my inspiration to this day, I hope one day he will visit Victory Hants and watch ME play.

I originally thought I wasn’t fit enough to play football because I know how quick footballers have to be on their feet. So after having lost a stone in weight in the summer of 2016, I decided to join a mental health, social inclusion group in Portsmouth called Victory Hants in February 2017.

I had wanted to be in a PROPER team since I was a teen but because of my Autism, it felt like I wouldn’t be accepted - I had always been slow at running and was chosen last in P.E at school.

Victory Hants does away with all that nonsense and just lets people play how their ability is and provides quiet areas for those with autism to take time out when experiencing sensory overload and that’s what makes Victory Hants so special.

Victory Hants has given me a chance again to get fit and to get a chance to be included, which I know is a problem for many with a autism as they often feel like a nobody, lost and alone.

Since joining Victory Hants it has really helped me both in mental wellness and physical too.

Football certainly isn't just for boys, I'm proving that !!"
