Build Secure Bicycle Park for NHS staff at Barnet General Hospital

Currently there is no secure area for NHS staff to lock a bicycle at Barnet General Hospital. Cycling is so important for many people’s mental and physical health.
Despite healthcare workers being told regularly to take positive actions around their mental health and wellbeing, Barnet General Hospital is not supporting this as there is currently no secure space for staff to store their bicycles.
Recently I had my bicycle stolen from the parking area despite securing it with two locks. I have heard several stories of other members of staff having similar experiences. Unfortunately, the CCTV camera in the area does not have film and there is no locked gate or cage for bicycles.
This petition calls upon Barnet General Hospital's executives to prioritise provision of a secure bicycle park area with a locked gate or cage and working CCTV. This is an essential facility for a healthcare institution which has a responsibility to support health and wellbeing in its staff.
We the undersigned support this motion and want to see the provision of a secure bicycle park area at Barnet General Hospital as a priority
