The new Netflix movie, "The After Party," is about a teenage boy with big dreams. After having a seizure while giving a performance on stage, the video of the boy having the seizure goes viral, and he is known as "#seezjahboy" (seizure boy). There are multiple scenes including people making fun of him having a seizure, including people teasing him about how he looked while having the seizure. There is one particular scene where he goes up to a food truck and the woman running it says that her son is a big fan of him, and wants to take a picture with him. While posing for the picture the lady says, "Oh, no. Can you do the thing?"—the lady makes him pretend to have a seizure by posing like he was in the video. Most people do not truly understand what it is like to have epilepsy. Seeing bullying in real life is bad, but seeing it being purposely staged in a movie is absolutely absurd. As a teenager living with epilepsy my whole life, I now believe that, yes, the movie may be entertaining to some, but Netflix just wants their money. It is unbelievable to see a disorder made fun of in a movie, and I believe that Netflix should take the movie down immediately.
