Why this petition matters

Started by Georgina Smith

In October 2019, The Education Authority issued guidelines for schools in Northern Ireland stating that staff should give transgender students access to toilets and make efforts to allow them to use the changing rooms which match their gender identity.
Since under-18s cannot undergo reassignment surgery under the present law, this mean female pupils will be asked to share their spaces with male-bodied pupils.

We the undersigned, ask that the women members of the Education Authority lead by example. If they believe that there is no issue asking female pupils do this then they should demonstrate their commitment by sharing a workout, changing room and shower with the Ulster Rugby Squad.
