I used to walk past the Bell Foundry every day on my way to university. It's such a unique place and brimming with London's history and character. To lose it to another boutique hotel would be criminal.

Because it is important to keep these skills alive and to train others for the future production and care of the bells. Bells are such a positive element in a civilisation.

We Brits are supposed to be proud of our heritage and elements of our past we are proud of. Keep the Whitechapel Bell Foundry going and don't let it fall victim to the greed of another developer.

I was an engineering patternmaker and making the equipment to make a cast bell was part of my training. I have also visited this foundry.
