These artifacts were stolen from where they originated. It is vital such important historical items are returned to the people of Ireland, more specifically, the people of Sligo.

The Inishmurray artefacts would be a very important display in Sligo where their significance would be recognised. My forebears came from Inishmurray and I have also visited Alnick Castle and after some searching found the Inishmurray artefacts away from the main house.

My paternal grandmother's famly was originally from Moneygold, Sligo which looked out to Inishmurray Island. They emigrated in 1868 to England, finally settling in the Newcastle/Gateshead area. These relics are Irish, and moreover, they are of worth and interest to only that particular area of Ireland.
