We the undersigned being individuals and/or companies from the Southampton area urge The Tug Tender Calshot Trust Company Limited to save the tug tender Calshot by accepting the recent offer for her to be restored by local Southampton company, Woodshack Limited, at newly restored James’ Wharf/Ocean Quay. 

Accepting the offer will ensure T.T. Calshot is restored, in Southampton, to respect her history, profiles and features.  The restoration would likely take four years to complete which will support local industries and provide employment in Southampton.

T.T. Calshot has a remarkable history.  She was closely associated with Cunard, P&O and White Star Line and has manoeuvred the worlds greatest ocean liners. She is the last surviving D-Day Headquarters ship and was designated at the Juno Beach area in the 1944 Normandy landings.

If the offer is not accepted the most likely outcome is that T.T. Calshot will be lost either because she sinks or is scrapped.  It would a tragedy for this to happen when she can clearly be saved.
