We the undersigned respectfully request that you consider our position against rezoning Application Number RZNE-2021-0022 to rezone 5.5 acres located in the Denmark Community from AG-5 to Highway Commercial.  The rezoning request would allow the property be used for freight containers and trailer storage.  This proposed site would bring increased traffic of semi-tractor trailers entering and exiting an already congested and dangerous section of Highway 67 known to the local community as “The Devil’s Triangle”.  The site could also pose a potential contamination risk to the surrounding farmland and adjacent property.  As a community, we are concerned about the public safety of our area citizens as well as others that travel this area. Also of concern is the negative impact this could have on the community’s Quality of Life as noted in Bulloch County’s Land Use Plan.  The plan details the importance of preserving and sustaining the rural character, lifestyle and agricultural economy of the unincorporated rural areas of our county.  We urge our county leaders to deny this rezoning request!
