To have injections of Vitamin B12 recognised as an essential treatment for millions.
Millions of people with Pernicious Anaemia (which means 'deadly lack of blood') and other deficiencies of vitamin B12 rely on regular injections of this life-saving medicine. A deficiency causes nerve damage which can, if treatment is denied, become permanent. It also causes a lack of white blood cells, which diminishes the effectiveness of the immune system.
During the Covid-19 crisis, many GP surgeries are turning away people who need their injection. But others are perfectly capable of coping with these patients.
We request those who have the power to instruct GPs that vitamin B12 injections are essential to the health of many people and that these injections should be continued during this crisis.
Failure to do so is just stockpiling future health problems for these patients and the NHS
