The best way to inculcate patriotism as exemplified by Heneral Luna is to bring the message right into the minds of students in the elementary and high schools. It is important to start them young. They have to see our nation's history, both the dark and bright sides of it, bring them to reflect about the present and draw a conclusion about what they could contribute to help the nation achieve unity so that the latter will usher into genuine change, prosperity and independence in the truest sense of the word.

Heneral Luna captures the legacy of the Bonifacio-Aguinaldo Feud repeated during Philippine-American War and ultimately claimed his life. His death was tragic. It shoot down the Filipinos' one shot to freedom then. The youth must be made aware that there is always an abundance of Aguinaldos and his minions in our government, now and in the future. They are indecisive, crowd pleasers, lovers of self-interest over that  of the nation. They embody the portent of tragedy for our nation. What would prevent their likes from initiating and repeating the tragedy of 115 years ago is essentially patriotism. And it has to start early. Hence, this petition.
