Recognition Ceremony for Biology Department Students

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,
We the undersigned are interested in the possibility of establishing a Recognition Ceremony for Undergraduate biology students. As many of you may know, the University at Albany has removed a commencement ceremony for Undergraduate Students who plan to graduate in December. In an effort to be recognized for our efforts in completing our undergraduate education in Biological Sciences, we would like to work with the Faculty and Staff of the department to establish a Recognition Ceremony. We recognize that this event logistically is a large undertaking and as such we, the students, will aid in the planing of this ceremony should it take place.
Our combined vision for this Recognition Ceremony includes the following: We would like to hold a small ceremony to be held during the First week of December. Students will be expected to dressed in a professional manner for the event. There will be both a student speaker and a guest speaker for the ceremony. We, the students, will be involved in the selection process for the event. We recognize that logistically, students may only be allowed 2-3 guest for the event due to space availability. We believe that the support the faculty will make this event a success. Likewise, we recognize that for this event to be successful we are willing to support the workload jointly with the faculty and staff.
We hope to garner your support in this matter.
