My Fellow Students,

I write this petition in an effort to help our dear friend Dan Hammond. Dan Hammond is currently a junior at St. John Fisher College. He is majoring in accounting, and is also a member of the football team. Outside of academics and athletics, Dan is a friend who we can all rely on through thick and thin.

I write this to help him just as he would help me. Recently Dan found out that he could no longer attend St. John Fisher College due to the fact that he has not received the COVID-19 Booster Vaccine. Dan has a history of concussions and had gotten a serious one this past football season. He was given a short notice as the college came out with the booster mandate January 5th and required it by the 24th, 19 days later. He consulted a primary care physician who gave him a referral to a neurologist. The neurologist was booked for months and he couldn't get an appointment until April. The college still mandated him to receive the vaccine, disregarding the referral or acknowledgement of a later appointment. Since he did not, they are now requiring that he withdraws from the college. Please sign this petition in efforts to help Dan continue his education here at Saint John Fisher College.
