Southern Wokingham Distributor Road - Vote Central Route, Option B1
This petition had 116 supporters
As you may know the Council are consulting on where to put a distributor road as part of the scheme to build 1850 new houses south of the railway.
The Council are currently in favour of the Central Route (Option B - the RED one), but no decision has been made. This Petition is to support the Central Route, however it must be the Central Route with Option B1 (in Pink). If Option B1 is not supported it will be as bad as the Green Northern Route (Option A) for many of the local residents especially in Gipsy Lane.
We think the Northern green route (Option A) one will be much worse for us as local residents due to:
1. MORE NOISE
o As closer to us (made worse by prevailing winds in our direction)
o As straighter, which will lead to higher speeds and therefore more noise and vibration to local houses, many of which are old pre-1900s.
2. MORE POLLUTION
o Air pollution will be affected
3. ROUNDABOUT BEING TOO CLOSE TO EASTHAMPSTEAD LEVEL CROSSING
o Traffic will back up from roundabout in rush hour
o It will take forever to get across the level crossing (it could end up similar to the existing roundabout by the Station)
Also: please note that the Central Route has an Option B1 (marked in Pink ) that will further reduce the noise and pollution for local residents so please vote for the Central Red Route, Option B1.
