Make Conservative Party Chairman a directly-elected position

The main role of the Chairman/Chairwoman of the Conservative Party is to represent members of the Conservative Party. However, The Chair-person is appointed at the arbitrary whim of whoever happens to be the current leader of the Party. We, the undersigned, therefore agree with the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP’s suggestion that the Chair-person should be directly-elected by Conservative Party members across the UK. This would ensure that whoever holds the position truly represents party members across the country, speaks for them and is accountable to them.
