Theresa May's premiership is causing catastrophic damage to the Conservative Party, the constitutional arrangements of the United Kingdom and the nation of the United Kingdom.

Mrs May has broken her manifesto promise to the nation that no deal is better than a bad deal. She refuses to admit that her deal is a bad deal, despite said deal having been voted down three times by the House of Commons and polling showing it is extremely unpopular with the public.

Her continued attempts to pass her deal by any means, most recently her involvement of the Leader of the Opposition, Jeremy Corbyn, have resulted in an extreme loss of confidence by the public in the Conservative Party. It is also resulting in serious damage to our constitution and governing conventions, with backbenchers having seized control of the order paper in Parliament and the House of Commons voting in favour of a bill in which backbenchers order the executive to take an action in the field of international relations. These dangerous precedents will live on long after Brexit.

This damage has occurred because Mrs May refused to leave the European Union on 29 March 2019, breaking a promise which she made 108 times to the British people.

The uncertainty created by unnecessarily dragging out Brexit is causing economic damage to the United Kingdom. The public and businesses are ready to exit the European Union without a deal and wish to do so on 12 April 2019.

Mrs May is obstructing a no deal exit, claiming that Parliament will not allow it. This is incorrect - Parliament does not have to vote in favour of a no deal exit for one to take place. A no deal exit is in Mrs May's hands, and she refuses to take the necessary action to deliver it.

Mrs May has demonstrated an extremely blinkered, stubborn attitude and she will not resign willingly. This necessitates action by the Conservative Party to force her to resign.

Thus far, the Conservative Party has refused to take its opportunities, most notably at the no confidence vote held in December 2018.

This time the Conservative Party must take action to remove Theresa May as Prime Minister immediately.
