Remove Cannabis From The Federal Drug Schedule under the Controlled Substances Act

The Controlled Substances Act of 1970 established the Federal Schedule System that the United States Government uses to classify controlled dangerous substances.  The highest control level is Schedule I. According to that system Substances on Schedule I have (1) High level of potential for abuse (2) No accepted medical use (3) No safe conditions exist that medical applications may occur

Scientific FACT  is there has never been a study that has identified an addictive substance in the Cannabis plant.  It is medical FACT that cannabis is used in Cancer Treatment Therapy where more harsh chemicals used to fight cancer causes painful side effects that Cannabis Treats.  In multiple studies certain types of cancer cell regression has been linked to medicines created from the Cannabis plant.  The Cancer fighting effects of Cannabis are easily separated from the THC portion of the the plant and are used to make cannabis medicine that treats cancer without drowsiness or cognitive hazing.

It is logically inconsistent and intellectually dishonest that Cannabis remain on Schedule I as it does NOT meet the Governments own criteria for prohibiting substances under the act.  By leaving Cannabis on Schedule I the Federal Government prohibits medical and laboratory testing at the Federal level which arbitrarily prevents the development of medicines that currently treat but could cure terminal illnesses like Cancer which kills 1/3rd of Americans who die every year.

Cannabis has had an across the board success in rolling out a fully taxed regulated medical market in multiple states and half of those states have recreational use markets that have seen ZERO increases in underage use.

The Federal Government has a responsibility to the American Public to adhere to the will of the people.  A super majority of Americans favor some form of Cannabis Decriminalization, and at the Federal level that starts with De-Scheduling Cannabis.

Sign this petition to add your name to the ranks of Americans who want Congress to stop intellectually dishonest drug policy and to Remove Cannabis from Schedule I  This petition will be delivered to the Members of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus to be the tip of the spear in Changing our nations drug laws.
