Enough is enough. America needs better gun laws.

Our thoughts and prayers are not working.
We need our politicians to uphold their moral responsibility and not their ties to the NRA.
It's only a matter of time until the wrong person gets their hands on a gun and harms innocent bystanders yet again. As a nation, we have become desensitized to the news of fatalities in mass shootings, until it affects us directly.
In 2018 alone (it's only mid-February), there have been 6,900 instances of gun violence. In those instances, there have been 1,899 deaths recorded, 70 of which were children.
As seen in the recent Parkland, Florida shooting, 17 innocent people lost their lives to a mentally unstable domestic terrorist. Parents lost their beloved children. Children lost their cherished siblings, friends, classmates, teachers-why? Because it is too easy to buy a gun in America.
Before getting a driver's license, it is required to go to driving school where one learns driving laws, the functions of a car, and is taught how to drive. A test has to be taken before receiving the permit for a license. If the rules of the road are not followed, repercussions are consistently enforced. Why do our laws treat driving a car or buying alcohol or tobacco with more precaution than buying a gun?
We need extensive background checks. We need appropriate mental health examination prior to selling/buying guns. WE NEED LEGITIMATE GUN LAWS.
Simply put, we are in the midst of a gun violence epidemic in America, and we need to act before it's too late.
For those affected by gun violence, whether it was directly or indirectly, it's already too late. Let's use our voices to get Congress' attention.
