We don't want automated check-outs in our Co-op store.

This week, the Co-op store, Green Lane, Ashton-on-Mersey Village, Sale, Cheshire, was converted to an automated self-serve check-out system, with only one cashier check-out for trollies, lottery, cigarettes and alcohol.
Firstly, we oppose the installation of a fully automated check-out system as this will potentially lead to job losses in stores.
Secondly, we have an ageing population in our village with many pensioners flats in the surrounding area. Pensioners enjoy a walk into the village to get their shopping as it's very often the only human contact they get. Many elderly people don't want to use automated systems and will avoid going into the store in future.
The Co-operative Group is run by its members and staff, and prides itself on helping communities.
Taking this into consideration, can you please reinstall the cashier check-out system for the good of all in our community?
