Removal of rocks blocking Pueblo city park, parking by the skate park.
Recently the Pueblo City Park staff placed large boulders circling the dirt parking lot next to the skate park, and the softball field, to prevent entry to vehicles, only because of people in trucks, putting a few potholes in the dirt parking lot.
This may not seem like a big deal, but my best friend, Mason Potter was shot and killed in a drive by shooting recently, and we held a candle light vigil for him in this parking lot (that they’ve now closed off) because he hung out there a lot, and he had many memories with a lot of his friends, including me.
There was also another member of my friend group, who I didn’t know as well, Johnathan Mccombs, who passed right after Mason, in a car accident. His candle light vigil was also held in the same parking lot, that’s been blocked off for little to no reason.
Many of Mason’s and Johnathan’s friends simply wanna park where they did so many times with them. As well as being able to go up to the place so many of us grieved. I know so many people upset by this, including myself.
It isn’t right for the Pueblo Park Department to take away an area with so many memories, for as little reason as unrelated people occasionally putting a divot in the parking lot. If you would sign this, it would mean the world to me, and so many people who have memories with Mason and Johnathan.
