Victoria Wajda started this petition to Michele DiPeitro - Kenyetta Johnson's Office The City of Philadelphia and

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) Golf Club is in jeopardy of being shut down. This golf course is home to The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia, a life skills, leadership, and golf program for both children and teens. This program is dedicated to teaching the youth of Philadelphia crucial social skills they will need on throughout their lives as well as teaching them to play the wonderful game of golf. If FDR is closed, then this program's location will close with it, and the 3,600 students who annually attend First Tee classes at FDR will be left with no course to call their home. We need your support to help change the plans to demolish FDR and the life changing program we call the First Tee. Without your help, our beloved golf course will be turned into basketball courts, synthetic fields, roads, and parking lots. The green fields we know now will become concrete slabs, and the bountiful amounts of natural beauty in the park will be sharply reduced. Please help to save this golf course! With your help, the children, especially the inner city children, of Philadelphia will continue to have access to the game of golf, and the First Tee will continue to provide valuable lessons to the youth of Philadelphia.
