Save the Bella Vista Skatepark!

The City of Oakland has stated that next Tuesday, the 15th of December, they plan to remove all of the existing ramps and obstacles from the Friends of Bella Vista Park. The use of these obstacles at the park has brought community and outdoor exercise to the otherwise unused strech of asphalt, with countless skateboarders, bikers, and roller skaters of all ages using these ramps on a daily basis.

In hopes of showing the City of Oakland all the good that can come from a spot like Bella Vista, we are reaching out to our local community of skateboarders and non-skateboarders alike; your support is crucial at this time. We need as many voices as possible backing the Bella Vista Skatepark to get the city to hear our message. Though this petition will hopefully help our case in this conflict, time is very short. If we are unable to stop the removal of these ramps before the 15th, we ask that you join us next Tuesday at 1025 East 28th Street in a socially-distant protest against the destruction of this skate spot.

Thank you for your interest in the park, and thank you for helping, however you can, to keep these ramps available to the public.
