Gillan Rankin started this petition to The City of Edinburgh Council

Please help make each day safer for pedestrians crossing Glasgow Road (esp children), at the crossings at PC World. Drivers routinely go through red lights, when the green crossing light is on.

These crossings are heavily used by primary and high school children, and the community generally. It's only a matter of time before there's a fatality/casualty.

This is largely due to the speed limit being 40mph, giving drivers the chance to 'floor it' from 20-40mph (westbound) or carry too much speed onto Drumbrae Roundabout (40-20mph eastbound).

This is a very busy stretch of road, with takeaways, shops and a garage all contributing to make it a dangerous environment for the local community.

It would be safer for all pedestrians, and road users, if the 40mph limit (westbound) began after the Shell garage. And if the 20mph limit (eastbound) began at the same point.

Please add your support to this small change, which would make a big difference to a problem that is affecting the local community.

Thank you.
