Here's some history:
Located in the city of Downey, California, the Downey asylum also known as the Hollydale hospital and also the Los Angeles county poor farm was opened in 1888 making it 127 years old. it was a place where homeless, handicapped, elderly, and insane people were cared for, for many years. In 1918 the Spanish influenza epidemic hit this area and they started to care for the victims of the Spanish influenza as well. during WWII the US army turned part of the hospital into "camp morrow" by the 1950's the space started to turn into a ghost town but some buildings were used as storage until 1988.
