SENT TO COUNCIL MEMBERS:

I'm writing you in regards to the homeless housing property that Judy Shea is remodeling and going to open to she says to help veterans.

I would like to know how this is ok and possible after the council voted down the other homeless shelter in our city???

I know this isn't the same type of thing that was proposed to the city council members but I also know these type of things get out of hand and awry after opening.

I also know Judy Shea is a kind person.
That she will most likely not only will be helping veterans but all the other homeless in our city stated in the Desert Sun article and herself. And she's not only making this available to DHS homeless but others in others cities some not in Coachella Valley but like she stated at one of the council meetings San Bernadino.

She already has the MO for doing something like this in her old city of La Crescenta. She was shut down and I'm sure was overwhelmed by feeling the need to help everyone not turning anyone away. ( below I've attached the article from 2013 from that city)

I'm very very very upset about this as this property is 3 minutes from our 1st home (Vista Palms/Hacienda Heights on Panorama Dr across from the new homes being built) we purchased in March 2015. This is our first home we've bought and spent 26 years + saving and working hard to have. We went through a lot to have this new life.

I know you live in the area. Other residents I've spoke to are VERY concerned as well..... I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I just know how these these type of things turn out.... And Its not that we are not empathetic to the homeless problem. But this is the wrong area for this endeavor of hers. We have tons of children who live directly in surrounding neighborhoods of this location as well as backyards to residents here along the ravine behind the proposed shelter.

But we didn't make the big move here to this city and spend every dime to do so just to have it literally in our backyard.

Thank you for reading and I hope for a reply
