Hi All, and thank you for the support of our small business, Brentwood Material. I am the owner's daughter- Condemnation Law is a really sad thing. The city only has to offer you property value + relocation fees which are technically moving fees. I'm legally not at liberty to discuss the final offer that the city has made to us, however, I can tell you they have not found anything within a 5 mile radius that is zoned properly for our use with the lot size we need to accommodate our unique retail business. In fact, there really isn't much at all zoned for our industrial/machinery use since we are grandfathered in to this location. We have found other locations in Ellisville and Chesterfield, and while it will be a lot of work to rebrand, we think these potential locations could set us up for success. Those properties are never going to be attainable for us with what was offered. We are asking that the city lets us stay or that they find us an EQUALLY DESIRABLE piece of property to move us to where we won't lose our entire client base we have worked so hard to build over the course of 35+ years. NOT St. Louis City, NOT North County, and Not Villa Ridge or Union..... WE ARE BRENTWOOD MATERIAL COMPANY. Our client base is all local! City of Brentwood, MO, this is us pleading for you to help us. What is LEGAL and what is ETHICALLY CORRECT don't align here. We emailed letters to all of the alderman and have never heard back. Please help. We love our home city of Brentwood, and we hope they help us our and set us up for success in a new location.
