We, the neighbors of Grove Park, the members of the surrounding Westside neighborhoods, and the citizens of Atlanta, petition the City of Atlanta and Atlanta Housing to develop and provide real affordable housing solutions for the Grove Park neighborhood and surrounding Westside neighborhoods.

Rent prices and property taxes are climbing higher each day as the Westside Park continues to drive development in our neighborhoods. Because of this, our neighbors who have lived here for decades are at high risk of displacement. Dozens of families have already been displaced within the past 12 months.

Atlanta Housing still has properties sitting vacant throughout our neighborhoods. There are city-owned properties still abandoned and vacant.
We demand that the city of Atlanta and Atlanta Housing use their resources to protect our historic neighborhoods and the citizens of Atlanta who have lived here for generations, by developing and providing real affordable housing options in our neighborhood.

We demand that real action be taken before May 1st, 2020, when phase 1 of Westside Park is currently scheduled to be opened.
