Petition to
The Osceola City Commissioners & County

Why this petition matters

We need a new fire station badly and the land has been designated to build it. Osceola county owns acres of barren land but instead want to take down a tree farm that is a natural border between it and a 400-home neighborhood. This tree farm is home to many animals and rare birds, such as bald eagles, owls, falcons, and wood peckers. Destroying this tree farm will allow the fire house to sit butted up against the neighborhood property line removing the natural border it has today.

With all of the available land at this Austin Tindall location, we ask that they resituate the fire house so that it is closer to (and make their entry/exit access points) the public Boggy Creek Road rather than the private road the community HOA maintains, blocking our children's safe access to walk to/from school/bus stops and the community's access to its call box and automated entry gate.

Please help us ensure those making decisions are aware that we are concerned residents who welcome change and more services but not an the unnecessary cost of the few trees that remain as well as all the ecosystem they support.

Because this fire station will also offer ambulatory services, not only will it cause noise pollution from internal sirens, trucks idling and truck sirens, it will also cause light pollution due to having the parking lot lit 24/7 to dissuade theft of the drugs it will store onsite.
