Mental illness and poorly maintained environments is a thing that runs rampant in not just the inner city of Alexandria but in communities across the nation. If we can have youth mentorship programs, new recreational parks and community center buildings (near churches specifically), and on-the-move counseling welfare checks in the community together we can fight the violence. The youth have nothing to do but find fun that ends up getting them in trouble with the law and gun violence is slowly increasing. It will take a community effort but together WITH THE NEEDED HELP of city officials this entire community can be changed for the better.
