Stop Posthumous Baptism
This petition had 20 supporters
Followers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints / Mormon Church are able to hold baptism ceremonies for people who are dead. There is little or no control over who is included in these baptisms, and obviously the dead person has no say over whether they are baptized or not. This issue has come up before, and though the church agreed to exempt Holocaust survivors from posthumous baptism, this agreement has been repeatedly violated. This petition aims to get the church to stop the practice of posthumous baptism for people who do not want themselves or their family members to be baptized into the Mormon church after their death.
