Bigotry and denial of systematic racism have no place in non-bias free press. Journalism has an obligation to provide honest and objective material that acknowledges political and historical facts.

I'm signing because the diversity of the viewpoints that the Chicago theater landscape strives to display is what makes me love it more than any other city's. Free tickets given to someone who doesn't understand why that is important is counterproductive.

I stand with my colleagues in demanding accountability for uninformed, close-minded and, frankly, racist comments that do not seek to lift up the community as a whole or come from a place of curiosity and humility but rather perpetuate an uninformed, close-minded and racist perspective within our community. Despite appearances, this is not a first-amendment issue. This is about members of the community holding accountable those with a privileged pulpit.

I'm signing because I support EVERYONE in the Chicago theater community and believe they should feel safe performing their art.
