There needs to be better quality of care for these people. I have a 37 year old daughter that is in a long term care facility only because I am unable to care for her any longer at home due to my own health issues. Before going into this facility she was in our care for the past 32 years.  She has been in this facility for approximately almost 5 years and her quality of care is not good. In the beginning it was not too bad but Unfortunately it has much declined! But it is close to where I live and supposedly one of the best in the area I live in. And I am there on a regular bases to oversea and help the best I can with her care but It’s a constant battle with upper management problems! They are either burnt out or just don’t care and only are there to collect a paycheck. And because of that it is a trickling affect and trickles down to the workers. And sadly when they get good workers who see the lack of care or leadership and challenge the way things are run they are let go.  Thankfully there are a few that stick it out because they do care about these innocent people . But for the most part sadly these residence do not have anyone to advocate for them so the workers and management do not have accountability from family or guardianship people. So they are able to do or should I say not do the things that need to be done on a regular basis. The good workers try but they feel it is a losing battle or they run the risk of losing there jobs. It is very sad to see and it’s a constant fight on my part to make sure my daughter receives the care that she deserves to get as a human being. I feel that this is a reflection of our society today people just don’t care about others anymore. And now I’m being told that the workers are now going to be trained and allowed to pass out medication to these poor helpless people. That scares the daylights out of me because half the time these people can’t do basic care needs never mind have the responsibility of passing out medication‘s that could possibly kill someone if not administrated in the correct way or to the correct resident . This is a huge concern to me and one that I would like to not happen. Please help me fight for these people who can’t fight for themselves. And help me give them the Quality of care they all deserve.
