Reduce the Budget cuts to the Calgary Board of Education in Alberta
Why this petition matters
Many schools in Calgary today are facing not having enough money to accommodate fees. Even I, a grade 8 student can’t work in construction class because there is not enough materials to go around. Our home economics class made their last baked good. Our art classes are slowly running out of paint and paper. Field trips and workshops just went out the window. So long, special programs like fine arts and French immersion, spirit days and moral boosting dances! School bands can no longer go to camp and substitute teachers could be fired because they cost too much. Schools wouldn’t be able to fix broken technology, buy new resources like books or printer paper.
I’m asking you to stand with me as I challenge Jason Kenney’s budget cuts to the CBE. How can we make Canada a better place tomorrow if we can’t afford to teach the youth of today?
