vicheka kim started this petition to The Cambodian Government

The Cambodian government drafted a law in the legislation that would allow the police to fine people that are dressed “ inappropriately “. This was made to maintain the culture of indemnity around sexual assaults , to be specific stopping men from going out shirtless and women from wearing anything too “short” or “see through“.

Laws are human rights and one of them should be clothing and should not be oppressed. As clothing can be used for both expressing the culture such as traditional dances for instance , the apsara dance , and self expression should be fundamental as it’s a part of how people live life.

Stop victim blaming , assault comes from the assaulter , rape comes from rapists , harassment comes from harassers . No clothing what’s so ever could be an excuse for any of this

Please put an end to this drafted legislation for the coming year.
