We wish to bring more classes on the Health and Wellness of Pacific Islanders into California State Universities. By doing this we can help educate people on the health disparities that Pacific Islanders are facing. In turn this awareness would promote change and hopefully find ways to help these disparities. Please help by signing our petition.
"This course will help you to understand health and wellness among Pacific Islanders at home and in the US. The course is designed to provide you with an introduction to historical and contemporary health issues affecting Pacific islanders in the US through the study of various health disparities impacting this population, health equity, the socio-ecological framework of health, and epidemiological approaches to health as viewed through indigenous and western perspectives. The course is also designed to examine mainstream public health approaches, medical health practices, scientific methodologies and systemic healthcare policies as they relate to Pacific Islander communities" -Professor Sarah Wongking (San Francisco State University)
