Request to the Prime Minister for a Public Inquiry into a recent Family Court Case

We, the undersigned, respectfully and earnestly request that you appoint a Public Court of Inquiry in the recent Family Court case, whereby two children were ordered to be separated from their mother on highly specious grounds and submitting allegations of abuse of the children by the children’s father. The case has been widely reported in the media worldwide after Court permission was given to publish the names of the mother and children when the mother fled with them, to try to provide the protections which the Court denied them by ordering their removal from her care;
We consider that there are a number of highly disquieting factors and features in this case which require investigation and examination by an external government-appointed body i.e.
1 There is evidence that the Family Court Judge was a principal figure in a Fostering Agency which could be perceived as a vested interest and give rise to apprehended bias;
2 The investigation of the child abuse allegations by the Manchester Police appear to have been highly irregular and conducted incompetently;
3 There is a suggestion by an investigative journalist that the case may involve a paedophile network, but the Court has ordered the journalist to be `gagged’;
4 Why has these children been removed from their mother’s care, seemingly as a punishment for raising allegations of child abuse against the father, but such evidence being ruled by the Court as insufficient;
5 Since the mother and children have been found, Gagging Orders have been issued against several of the mother’s relatives and friends in an obvious attempt to maintain secrecy to protect the Court’s actions, as the Court has made known the names of the mother and children are now known worldwide therefore their protection no longer applies;
6 Claims have been made that the mother has faced threats, intimidation, and duress during the course of the Court proceedings;
7 Allegations were made by the Nottinghamshire Police that the mother was mentally ill and a danger to the children, when the mother had never undergone a full psychiatric assessment nor were there any grounds for considering that she was a risk to the children. Such allegations were therefore blatant attempt to alarm the public when such an alarm was entirely unnecessary.
We also request that the government examine ways in which proceedings in Family Courts have greater transparency, as recommended by Lord Justice Munby, Head of the Family Division.
We are requesting this Public Inquiry as there is mounting evidence and public awareness of innocent, competent, protective and loving mothers losing their children to abusive men/fathers, or worse the “care” system, through the threat, intimidation and duress of the Family Court system. A great many other children have been taken from their mother’s care in similar circumstances to this recent case and have consequently suffered continuing physical, emotional, psychological, and sexual abuses as a direct consequence of the decisions of Family Courts.
The British public and members of the public worldwide are greatly sympathetic to these children and to their mother, and the issues raised above have caused immense consternation and has brought the UK Family Law system into international disrepute.
