Why this petition matters

Started by Darya

The International English Language Testing System,or IELTS, is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English, and was established in 1989. IELTS is one of the major English-language tests in the world.

In 2017, over 3 million tests were taken in more than 140 countries, and Iran is hosting a large population that annually takes the IELTS. It is normally available in paper-based and computer-based formats and has to be taken at the test centers in particular cities of the country, which are less than 5.

IELTS Indicator as the new online test that one can take safely from home during the Covid-19 situation, is the effective solution made to protect people during the Covid-19 outbreak. However, it is not available in Iran which has one of the highest reported cases in the globe

According to the government and WHO reports, the Covid-19 situation is getting worse in Iran and to help stop spreading the virus, we need the IELTS Indicator to be available in Iran, too.
It is a solution to protect lives and allow people to have equal access to knowledge. Please sign the petition.
