Think about this... if you are deaf, is there people out there to speak to you through ASL? Yes, there is. But not enough. People who are deaf may feel left out.

    Imagine going to school and not having a lot of friends because you can’t communicate with them. If ASL was a class, more kids, even adults can speak to deaf people. It would spread more awareness about how ASL IS a language. Maybe not to you, but you may not be deaf.

    Think about this. If YOUR father or mother, or anyone in your family was deaf, wouldn’t you want to communicate with them? This is not only is it beneficial to children now, but also in their adult hood. For example, when watching Governor Cuomo, you see an ASL interpreter on the bottom corner. If we can win this petition, schools will have a class teaching students ASL, and it will let students have a higher success in their lives.
