We would like to apply for change of use to our current takeaway store to the right of use as a cafe/restaurant.

During our time trading, and getting to know the locals. We have discovered that the community enjoy having a place where they can sit down and enjoy the food and drink.

Their feedback has expressed that they prefer to use “regular cups” and would like to be seated and served. Because of this our business is not reaching its full potential.

We provide employment and are a struggling to make ends meet and we truly believe that with the change of use, we will be able to Accomodate to our customers requirements therefore supporting the growth of our business.

During the construction process, we were obliged to provide accessible toilets, ramps, handrails and all necessary requirements including a fully equipped commercial kitchen with a grease trap to meet the guidelines of a cafe/restaurant. Certification was not granted until these conditions were met.

What we are asking does not affect the neighbourhood in an adverse way. There are a number of cafes operating in the same R1 zoning, two of which are on the same road as ours both amongst residential buildings.

As we have a secure outdoor area, which is not on council property and doesn’t interfere with traffic of any kind. Customers are expressing their interests in using the area for their enjoyment. Our only direct neighbour has no objections to us having a change of use, as well as the local community.

With that being said we have created a petition to assist us with our application.
