The removal of the Current Australian Rugby Union Board and Full Endorsement of the IPRC

The Australian Rugby Community, the stakeholders of the game demand the current Rugby Australia Board be removed effective immediately. We demand transparency and an explanation of where our investment in the sport has gone. Recently Rugby Australia again suggested for an increase to registration fees and levies. This contradicts their "investment in grassroots" that they said would be achievable with the removal of the Western Force.

Rugby in Australia has without a doubt declining player numbers, anyone involved in the grassroots of the sport understands this. Saying 600,000 people are playing the game is a fudging of figures.

These board members have acted in their own self interest and not for the good of the game. The recent news that they are possibly not looking to endorse the Indo-Pacific Rugby Championship is another poor decision.

The IPRC has the support of the majority of the Rugby Community in Australia and beyond. It will provide more players the opportunity to play rugby professionally in Australia and our neighboring countries and ensure the survival of the sport in a growing state. The investment offered by Mr Forrest is one that must be taken up and fully endorsed. Simple. The funds Mr Forrest is providing should strictly go into the creation of this competition and Grassroots Rugby in West Australia.

We also call upon World Rugby to remove & investigate this board. This decision  contradicts your goals to grow the game into the Asian Market. With the World Cup in Japan in 2019 the creation of another professional competition in this time zone is exactly what the sport needs.

I will leave with this quote from the current CEO of Rugby Australia Bill Pulver when asked about Rugby WA going into Voluntary Administration.

”Our focus is on pursuing the high net-worth individuals that made commitments to RugbyWA to fund their legal battle and we are continuing to seek only a portion of the total costs.”

This perfectly explains Rugby Australia’s views on the growth of the game. It is clear they have a personal vendetta against Mr Forrest and have no interest in what they are on the board to do. Grow the game and engage as many people as possible.

Please, for the good of Australian Rugby and World Rugby, resign.
